12/10/2024 – At the beginning of December Fabiano Caruana was the sole winner of the U.S. Masters in Charlotte, but at the Saint Louis Masters he had to share victory with German Grandmaster Alexander Donchenko. 12/2/2024 – Arjun Erigaisi is now officially another player over 2800 behind Carlsen, Caruana and Nakamura in the December FIDE world rankings. Four Chinese players continue to lead the women's ranking and Gukesh D, the world's best junior might soon also be World Champion. Bibisara Assaubayeva is the world's best female junior.

11/6/2024 – In the 6th round of the Women's Grand Prix Tournament in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, Aleksandra Goryachkina won her fourth game in a row. She played against German Grandmaster Elisabeth Paehtz, who missed study-like drawing chances in a difficult endgame. Stavroula Tsolakidou, Tan Zhongyi and Kateryna Lagno also won their games. 11/5/2024 – The final day of the 27th Open International Bavarian Chess Championship at Gut Kaltenbrunn at Tegernsee saw another very exciting round, as eleven players were still in the running for the tournament victory. Arjun Erigaisi inched closer to the 2800 mark, while Vincent Keymer gained 11 rating points and overtook Ding Liren. Four Chinese players head the women's ranking.

10/23/2024 – In the third round of the European Club Cup, top favourite SuperChess had to play against team Vugar Gashimov from Azerbaijan, a challenging task which SuperChess, however, solved with ease: they won 5-1. Vincent Keymer scored the winning point for Novy Bor against the Vados Chess Club. 10/23/2024 – The Weissenhaus on the Baltic Sea coast is certainly one of the most beautiful venues for chess tournaments. Recently, the Weissenhaus Young Masters took place there. The games were played in the castle. The players were also accommodated either in the castle or in one of the houses of the ensemble. At the end of the tournament, the German national team visited.
